We have always said that we are hands-on investors yet, with close to half of our investments in the San Francisco Bay Area, we couldn’t really do that without getting on an airplane. So, we realized that it was time to open a permanent office in California.
For our local portfolio companies, we look forward to spending more time with you as you evolve your strategy, hire your team and market to your customers. For our east coast portfolio companies, our office is your office. We are well positioned to help you navigate relationships with partners and local VCs.
Kevin re-located to the Bay Area from Toronto last fall to set up the office. He is no stranger to Silicon Valley where he has been active since 2001, albeit as a commuter investor logging up to 13 trips to the Bay Area per year. (You can do the math on the air miles he collected.)
To our friends in the entrepreneurial and venture community who have encouraged us to set-up shop, we look forward to being more responsive and working more closely with you. This new office is about more than just bricks and mortar. We hope it shows how serious we are about building the preeminent mobile computing venture fund.
